Porter Upholstery

Porter Quality Upholstery is all about adding extra details that add both value and comfort. It starts with kiln-dried hardwood frames for long-lasting stability and enhanced with corner blocking for superior strength. The use of high-quality fabrics, filled with poly fiber cushions and feather down, ensures both comfort and resilience, while tempered steel sinuous spring suspension provides reliable support. Extra details like a 4” vanity strip to hide decking, and an extra spring to prevent rolling into the arm are the added elements set Porter Quality Upholstery apart. They offer a blend of style, comfort and robust construction that endures over time.

SHEESHAM is an eco-friendly deciduous tree, native to the Indian subcontinent. Sheesham has a beautiful irregular grain structure which is distinctive in appearance. Sustainable sourced through government managed plantations, it is methodically kiln-dried. Our furniture is crafted from both the dark heartwood and the lighter-colored sapwood of the tree which gives the wood grain its beautiful rich contrast.

ACACIA is prized for its durability, moisture resistance and solidity. Acacia trees are fast-growing and survive well in tropical regions. Eco-friendly acacia is a traditional hardwood renowned for its beautiful variegated grain patterns and rich color. This kiln dried wood is hard and very heavy which makes it ideal for withstanding the wear and tear of modern life.

MANGO is a beautiful, eco-friendly dense hardwood native to SE Asia. Harvested through sustainable, fast-growing tree plantations, old fruitless trees are cut down and new trees are planted to take their place. Durable and as dense as ash or cherry wood, mango wood has a rich color that varies in tone. Our beautiful mango wood timber is kiln dried and treated to ensure its longevity.

OAK is highly valued for its strength, durability, and attractive grain patterns. It typically has a prominent grain pattern with a coarse texture, ranging in color from light beige to rich reddish-brown. There are two main types of oak wood: red oak and white oak. Red oak has a pinkish hue and a more open grain, while white oak is more golden with a tighter grain. Despite being a hard wood, it is relatively easy to work with, and it takes stains and finishes well.

RUBBERWOOD is a light-colored, medium-density tropical hardwood from the Pará rubber tree, and is also known as parawood or Malaysian oak. It’s harvested from trees that have finished their latex-producing cycle, making it eco-friendly. Rubberwood is light brown, often darkening with exposure, and has a generally straight grain with a coarse texture. It’s durable, resistant to warping and cracking, and easy to work with.

WALNUT is prized for its rich, dark color and attractive grain patterns. The heartwood ranges from deep chocolate brown to purplish-black, while the sapwood is pale yellow or creamy white. It’s durable, stable, and resistant to warping, with a straight grain that sometimes shows waves or curls. Walnut is commonly used in high-end furniture, cabinetry, flooring, and musical instruments due to its strength, workability, and beautiful finish.
